Johannes Fankhauser

Postdoctoral researcher in foundations and philosophy of physics

profile.jpg

I am a postdoctoral researcher specialising in the foundations and philosophy of physics at the University of Innsbruck. I received my PhD from the University of Oxford, where I worked on the foundations of quantum theory, in particular on questions of observability, predictability and indeterminacy.

Prior to my PhD, I obtained a Master’s degree in Philosophy of Physics at Oxford and a Master’s degree in Physics at ETH Zurich, where I did my undergraduate studies in physics.

I’m committed to promoting education and fostering talent. To that end, I work on projects which help intellectually talented students develop their potential.

If you are planning to explore the foundations of physics, visit the Oxford Philosophy of Physics page and have a look at this list for recommended literature.

I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.
